Care and Maintenance
The Tesla-Dial Coil requires no daily care, just turn it on. If it gets dusty you can clean the outside of the “primary box, coil tower” and the “power box” with a towel or a micro fiber cloth. Do NOT spray liquid on any part of the TDC!
The TDC has been engineered to run for an extended period of time, but requires regular maintenance (see Warranty for How to Obtain Service):
- Every 1,500 hours the electrodes (part of spark gap) needs adjustment and the belt replaced. This is covered under the One Year Limited Warranty at no cost for the original owner for the life of the machine.
- Every 5,000 or 6,000 hours the spark gap will need maintenance – bearings, electrodes, and belt replaced. This is considered “consumables” and is the user’s responsibility. This maintenance will be $200 to $300.
To give you an idea of timing: 1500 hours is in the range of 6 months of using the TDC, 10 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The rest of the machine should last the life of the device.
Parts can be removed and set back to the shop for repair or replacement. The TDC was designed for “easy” maintenance, it’s modular. There is two different ways to remove parts for servicing:
- If owner feels comfortable working with TDC staff over phone or skype/facetiming in opening up side panel and removing said part. We also have videos that visually show you the process. Contact us for access to those videos.
- A service professional approved by TDC staff.
Unauthorized opening of the panels and “tinkering” with internal parts will result in the warrant being null and void.
Tesla-Dial Coil Parts
The TDC has a One Year Limited Warranty. Occasionally we have a transformer that will quit or bearing that will stop working. At this time, we cannot control the parts we buy. Some of our parts come from other countries, many times we have only one choice as to where we can get a part. As per our Warranty, if any defects are found we will repair or replace any of alleged defective work at its cost.
In the future we would like to have some of our parts custom made in the USA but that takes a large sum of money and being a new company that would significantly raise the price of the TDC.
The Tesla-Dial Coil does not heal or cure, it is an experimental device currently undergoing research.
